Description

Balato. Sword with tiger's teeth as charm. 1850-1900 or earlier. Wood. Metal. 70 cm. South Nias? The 'nio' hilt is a 'nioio gari', a simplified lasara. (Hulu Iku Mie). Top hook of the nio is broken. Main feature is the round plaited rattan basket, with tiger claws.
